Nothing beats a good screw

Got blinded on a red Burg last night and I was extremely pleased when the wine was revealed. It was quite fresh on the nose with crisp cherry fruit, some rose petals and a touch of earth. There was some development but acidity was brisk and fruit flavours had great clarity. Tannins were round and there was nice flesh in the mouth. It had a cherry pit stoneiness and depth was good. I thought it was a 2010 Chambolle-Musigny. It was a 2005 Jean-Claude Boisset Bourgogne Rouge under screwcap. I applaud Gregory Patriat for sealing these under screwcap. They age magnificently.

Wow! Thanks for this Jeremy. I have a case in my Bay Area storage (I live in Hawaii) and have been fretting that these are doa as per some notes on CT.

Mahalo!

PS-Nice “twist” on the title!

Jeremy, your wine tasting abilities seem to be a little weak. You really need more practice. Maybe a trip to Burgundy would help,
