TN: Three in KansasCity...(short/boring)

Whilst in KansasCity last week, I tried these three from Gomer’s MidTown:

  1. Antonutti RibollaGialla IGT: Delle Venezie (12%; L16091; TavoloVigneto/StLouis; www.TavoloVigneto.com) Pasian di Prato 2015: Med.light yellow color; fairly perfumed/fragrant perfumed talc/chalky savory/saline/RG/bit grapefruity slight herbal rather interesting nose; rather tart/tangy/grapefruity some chalky/mineral/perfumed talc rather saline/savory bit herbal/RG/citrusy flavor; med. somewhat tart/tangy/grapefruity chalky/perfumed talc light herbal/RG bit metallic/savory finish; a pleasant savory/saline white but low on RG varietal character. $19.00 (GomMT)

  1. Antonutti Traminer Aromatico Dd’OC: Grave (12.50%; L16173; www.AntonuttiVini.it/en/) 2015: Light gold color; lovely GWT/spicy/perfumed talc some mineral/chalky/earthy quite fragrant nose; totally dry low-key/GWT/spicy fairly tart/tangy mineral/chalky/metallic rather lean/savory flavor; long tart/tangy/metallic lightly spicy/GWT some chalky/mineral finish; speaks of GWT w/ a quiet voice but tart/lean/food-friendly; reminds some of cheap Alsatian GWT in the pre-Z-H era; nothing profound but pleasant enough drinking. $19.00 (GomMT)

  1. Burja BurjaNoir QualityWine/White/Dry VipavaVlly/Slovenia (12.5%; PinotNoir/Blauburgunder; www. BurjaEstate.com; www.IndieWineries.com) Primoz Lavrencic/Podgric/Podnano/Slovenia 2014: Med.light garnet color; lightly fragrant spicy/black cherry/PN rather earthy/bit loamy somewhat rustic bit Village Burg/smokey light pencilly/oak rather interesting nose; fairly tart/tangy/lean quite earthy/loamy/dusty/rustic light black cherry/PN light toasty/oak flavor w/ light gentle tannins; long earthy/loamy/rustic light PN/black cherry light toasty/pencilly/oak finish w/ light bit rough tannins; a rather interesting if rustic rendition of PN; reminds a lot of AltoAdige PN or Val d’Aosta Schiava; rather overpriced at $37.00 (GomMT)

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. Antonutti: Located just SW of Udine. I’d not heard of this producer so thought I’d give them a try. Pleasant enough, but just that.

  1. Burja: I’ve had a number of Zelen & Pinela wines, two indigenous varieties to the VipavaVlly, that I liked a fair amount. This PN was OK, but just that.
