TN: chateau Gloria 2012 st. Julien

From magnum.

Medium body, purple. Medium consistency.

Nose: red fruited, vegetal. Definitely getting strong vegetal vibe. Some oak, dried herbs.

Palate: not as much veg as the nose. Very dry. Acid, tanin. Oak and cedar. Plums and red fruits.

Overall enjoyable. Better with food but for the money a very enjoyable Bordeaux.

Thanks for the note, David! I bought a 1999 vintage bottle on close-out from the local wine shop recently at a very fair price, but I fear it is probably dead.

I doubt that…

+1

I had a 1970 Gloria a few years ago and while definitely on the downslope, it was still enjoyable.

Did you leave it next to the stove in broad daylight for the last couple of years?

If you stored it well, it should come nicely into its secondary characteristics. No hurries though…
