Has anyone tried the new Shafer wine D9 or something to that effect?
I was in one of my acts today and they received this ridiculous box, pamphlet, laguiole (sic) opener, shipped in ice packs very marketing heavy, I guess it’s supposed to retail around $70…
Any thoughts?

It’s the usual “sell Napa merlot by blending it with a bit of cabernet and branding it with some important-sounding proprietary name” plan.
Having said that, it’s probably a good wine. Shafer has made good merlot for a long time.
Tried the wine last week. It’s a pretty good wine and a different flavor profile from the cab and the merlot because of the blend. Not sure it’s worth $70 if that is the price but it was a very good wine. Worth trying.
