TN: 2004 Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay Art Series

2004 Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay Art Series - Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River (9/24/2017)
What a spectacular bottle of Chardonnay. One of the best Chards I have ever had. Sadly this is my last bottle of this wine. I Opened this and began drinking immediately. The color was a medium straw color. The nose has apple, pear, honey and butter. On the palate there was an initial hint of grapefruit but that quickly disappeared and the wine presents an amazing medley of rich, crisp and fresh fruit flavors, lychee nuts and honey. The balance is amazing with just-right fruit infused acidity and a super long finish. I think this wine is in prime time but also believe that it should go at least another 5 years. (98 pts.)

Have a single 98 and some 04 and 05 resting…may be time to open a few.

I would. My 01s are pretty tired now.

I love this wine and have had many vintages including the 04` which was in its prime.
