TN: 2012 Kaella Winery Cabernet Franc Conner Lee Vineyard

For those complaining about the lack of WA wine notes, I’m an equal opportunity drinker: [cheers.gif]

  • 2012 Kaella Winery Cabernet Franc Conner Lee Vineyard - USA, Washington, Columbia Valley (9/21/2017)
Inky dark purple red with green pepper nose. Dry, full body and fruit, green pepper and tobacco with a strong acid focus. Drinking well now with a good balance on the fruit forward spectrum and should last forever. The second night was the best, on the third night the acid had over shadowed the fruit and the balance was lost. (91 pts.)

Inky dark purple with a nose of blackberries and cassis. Dry with nice round fruit and tart tannins. Medium body and fruit, a slight bitter that is more apparent drinking singly than when accompanied with food, green bell pepper, leather and beef blood, chewy tannins on the finish. (89 pts.)

Some nice wines from Dave. Sorry to see him give winemaking up. Hopefully he will return someday?
