TNs: 07 Francoise & Denis Clair Santenay Clos de la Comme and 14 Langoureau En Remilly

  • 2007 Françoise & Denis Clair Santenay 1er Cru Clos de la Comme - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Santenay 1er Cru (9/23/2017)
Darker ruby color. Healthy nose of fresh blackberry, raspberry, alpine flowers, stone, forest floor. Incisive black raspberry, mulberry, and iodine flavors on the tongue overlying a foundation of craggy, almost rustic stone and iron. Firmly tannic but relieved by fresh acidity and crisp surges of fruit. Lengthy finish of dark tart berry gripped by iron particles. Pretty fun to drink this with salmon. Could age for years. Can’t keep my hands off these things. White gold color. Nose of fresh cut white peach, apple core, grapefruit. Strong, primary flavors of grapefruit, lime, granny apple, and white stone with vibrant acidity and tensile structure. Long finish of tart white fruit and schist. Lovely. From a 375. (91 pts.)
