Wine Exchange is selling Gabriel-Glas Gold for $39.98 each, free shipping with code gabriel. I picked up two, seemed like a great deal. I've been wanting to try these after hearing positive reviews here.

Before buying at Winex, I'd check with board member Chris Freemott. I don't know what his current price on the stems would be, but he's a really good source and a hell of a guy. Just my 2 cents.

Is there much diff between these handblown and the cheaper machine made Gabriel Glas in same size?

Alan
Shape. No.
Feel and weight. Yes.

Golds average 3.25 ounces and a machine is 5.25-5.375. As a % move, it's noticeable.

If you need 6-12 for casual tastings they are ideal. If a daily drinker, gold worth the small 'up' in price

Small 'up' in price but giant 'up' in feel.
Sadly I broke one yesterday so it'll be time to talk to Chris soon.

Chris--do you also get the Aqua glasses? Has anyone tried them?

It's not like we are short of glasses but I bought four of these on Berserker Day. We use them every day and like them so much it becomes difficult to decide who gets them when we have guests.

Just solved that problem by ordering four more from Chris. [cheers.gif]

Will never buy another stem anyplace else.

Chris, I couldn't get your "shop" page to render on Chrome or IE. Maybe all the new business has crashed the thing. :-)

Works in Safari, FWIW. In for 4, will be interesting to compare them to the machine made version.

Maybe a firewall issue, I suppose, but no other wine sites get blocked, and I get a distinct warning when accessing forbidden sites; this wasn't it. And the homepage loads, just not the shop page.

I bought my Golds from Chris. Great price, great service, and beautiful classes. A word of advice – do not hold them by the base while you are drying them. The result can be a broken stem. Don't ask how I know. [cheers.gif]

My fiancé just bought me the Zalto Bordeaux, burgundy, and universal glasses for my birthday last month from Chris. Does it make sense to also have the Gabriel Glas Gold, or would that be just redundant? I guess I'm asking if the GGG excels in any particular areas, that the 3 zalto glasses I have, don't?

Russ
PM to be sent in 90 min.

All orders are going out the day they come in. I use a hybrid FedEx/USPS model called SmartPost. Anticipate 4 days and if in CA or OR or WA, up to 5.

But this allows for Saturday delivery.

I can send any of you tracking data if you'd like it.

Send me an email (faster than asking here) at
Chris@cjfselections.com

Thanks again. Demand has been impressive.

You will be buying more. Not long ago I used to think there was nothing that could hold a candle to the Zalto Universal. The GG's have proved me wrong and they are now my go to glasses. Don't get me wrong, the Zalto's are great, but there is just something about the GG's that is hard to describe. Once you try them though, you will understand.
