Any thoughts on the Marguet? Wish the Bouzywas a 2012. Haven’t heard great things about ‘13
I think that's potentially premature. The only downside on this particular offer is the Bouzy is 80% Pinot, and chardonnay is definitely stronger in 2013, so out of these wines that's the one I wouldn't buy.

2013s will be just fine in the right hands. The Hebrart 2013 SC is getting better assessments than the 2012, for example.

I visited Marguet in May and tried the 2013 Chouilly--it was excellent. As far as the other 2 wines, Marguet is someone who I am enjoying across his range so I asked for bottles of all three offered. Easy purchase for me. He farms clean, he is zero dosage...the things I like in the champagnes I support now and enjoy.
My best wines of 2018:
2013 Vilmart & Cie Champagne Premier Cru Grand Cellier d'Or
2015 Kutch Sonoma Coast PN
2017 Kutch Falstaff Sonoma Coast PN
2012 Marguet Père et Fils Champagne La Grande Ruelle Ambonnay
2012 Savart Expression Nature Ecueil
2010 Tercero Verbiage (Rouge) Santa Barbara County

Kindness matters.

Thanks, went in for some of the Chouilly. Sure it will be good. Hopefully I get to compare it with the ‘14 in ten years or so. Think ‘14 should be a great year if anything like northern Burgundy

Well, I just got invoiced for some Savart and Marguet can't be far behind. Ouch---a hit to the budget this week but good stuff is now in the pipe. [cheers.gif]

I was asked what card I wanted to use for the Savart...didn't order any but perhaps I should've! Ordered the 13' Marguet's yesterday but no word yet.

I only get about 60-70% of Envoyer's champagne offers based on what I see on this board.

I sometimes wonder if Greg manually pastes in people's addresses when he sends them.

Did anyone else get the Benoit Dehu offer? I was surprised that it wasn't mentioned on here.

The savart offer is the first time I know I didn't get an email.

Yeah, of all the times people have "not gotten" offers, Savart seems to be the first time I actually haven't gotten an offer.

My guess is they got a small amount and offered it to a handful of people. I'm doubting an official email went out as a bunch of us didn't get it.

You can also go to their website and click through the inventory. It emails them that you are interested in buying a wine. I've bought a fair amount from Envoyer in that way e.g. https://www.envoyerfinewines.com/module ... item=26952

Asked for a couple of bottles of the 98 Magdelaine this week. I've heard nothing.

Requested Marguet. Mostly. Mostly because of FM3. Alreadu bought some Shaman but haven't gotten around to opening one. I buy a lot of Champagne from them (and other stuff) and am a satisfied customer. Didn't get the Savart offer (have bought it in the past) but don't mind. I could stand to buy less. Just ask my wife.

Decent pricing - release price is genuinely $120. No malo, 12 years on lees. Should be a very compelling wine. Lanson can be underrated as it always needs more time than most are prepared to give. If I wasn't on a buying embargo I'd give it a try. I could believe it needs another 10 years though, knowing the style that Lanson pursue.

I actually liked the 2000 Cuvée Noble BdB better than the 2002 CN BdB, although they were both good. This is the Cuvée Noble Brut. I know Brad Baker felt 2002 was better for Pinot than Chardonnay, so this Brut might be quite nice. I asked for a few.

Cheers,

How long does it take for a wine to hit the inventory after the email?

(Or maybe the answer is - it hits inventory only if it doesn't fully sell from the email . . . )

The price is up quite a bit, but I reloaded on the the 2000 Lanson BdB and the 2000 Brut. Those are both drinking quite well right now, and are still well worth $69.99@.

Me too. Were these disgorged in 2017? Any idea on how long to age them? I’ve heard 2000 is great now but think these are Landon and recently disgorged so probably still need some time?

Neil,
I liked it quite a bit more than Blake and Michael.
Here's my note on the 2002 BdB Noble (they have a BdB and a Brut Noble):
"I bought six of these after really enjoying the '00 vintage. I was disappointed by the initial bottles, but last night the wine was beautiful. Very rich, with a luscious mouth feel; lemony biscuits. I had just finished dissing this vintage of Lanson BdB Noble when my first taste (and smell) changed my mind."

It was an easy buy for me at $49.99. I hesitated at the new price of $69.99, but refilled several.

If you get it, I hope you enjoy it as much as me. It seems to be a controversial wine, with supporters and detractors.

Cheers,
Warren

You`re correct Neal. I was referencing the 00`. I have another bottle pulled to try soon for bottle and palate variation.

The 2000 Lanson BdB is really nice and well worth the $60 I paid a few years ago. The Noble Brut was just ok.

'07 Comtes being offered at $119.99. Any buyers?
I liked the wine when I tasted it at Taittinger this summer and was a buyer.
Can you compare it to the 06` Howard?

Probably not as dense as the 2006 but had a beautiful flavor, good acidity and maybe a longer finish than the 2006. Probably the 2006 was more powerful and maybe the 2007 was more elegant. I like both very much.
