Vilmart Rosé for $49.99 was a clear buy, as we go through Rosé like water.

In for a couple bottles as well. Haven’t had this one before but like the Vilmart Coeur de Cuvee.

Sadly I missed the Vilmart Rose. We usually don't drink Rose Champagne but this is wonderful stuff and $49.99 was a really nice price.

Damn...I'm both happy & sad that I missed that offer. I'd want to buy a case at that price...and I don't have the money to do that right now.

Went in for another 2008 Delamotte Champagne Blanc de Blancs Millésimé. Looks like the highest ratings on CT is 1970 and 1964 so guessing these are built to age.
I really liked the 2008 and so when the 2012 just was offered I bit on some of those.

The Vilmart Rubis was the wine that led me to sign up for Envoyer’s list and with 6 more ordered yesterday, it passes 2014 Clos Roche Blanche Pif for second place in the list of wines of which I’ve purchased the most bottles. I drank my last bottle of the 2011 base earlier this month and even that was delightful.

Got shut out of the Vilmart rose as well.

Just went in on the NV Pierre Moncuit Champagne Cuvee Hugues de Coulmet BdB Brut. Seems like a good wine to try for my palate and at a good price.

I am retired and now have to have wines shipped to me at my house or have it held for me and pick it up. Delivered to my house means I have to stay home all day and wait for it. So, I either buy locally or from Envoyer. With Envoyer, I just get shipments two times a year.

I don't own any Cristal, but for those of you who've had both, is this "worth" $100 more a bottle than 2008 DP?

In my opinion, yes, it's definitely worth way more than DP. Far more character, complexity, depth, and nuance.

Saw 08 Cristal at Costco for $234 just yesterday. Envoyer price isn't terrible.

That’s really a matter of opinion. I would cellar both. I think they’re both fantastic champagne and the 08 dom is IMO drinking substantially better than the 08 cristal at this time. I think the 08 cristal likely has more ultimate potential. Drinking young cristal is usually an exercise in futility, however the 09 cristal at the ~170 price point is sort of the sweet spot for me right now. I’ve put away a lot of all 3 but the 09 is underrated and fantastic.

2012 Guy Charlemagne Champagne Grand Cru'Mesnillésime' VV Blanc de Blancs; if the ‘08 is any indication, this will be fantastic. The ‘08 was still way too young a few months ago, but full of verve and creamy lemon, orange and minerals. I’m a buyer.

Yeah, I didn't see any Marguet offering, nor do I see it in today's small but diverse cellar. Also didn't see a Courtin offering. Emailed Greg. Work prevents me from checking the Envoyer website.

I've enjoyed all the 2002 Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Rare I've opened lately. I'm down to my last few bottles, so I reloaded a couple. I liked it better for $119.99, but $139.99 is still fair. Glancing at CT community tasting notes, it might consistently have the most glowing ratings I've seen on that site, despite some less than lustrous critical reviews, notably from Galloni. There are other wines I prefer in this price range, but the way this is drinking now earns it a place in my champagne rotation (despite the gaudy bottle).

Cheers,
Warren
