'08 Dom hard pass.
I'm good for 08 champagnes. I think '12 is even better than '08. Will wait for '12.

Asked for a few of the 2008 Huré Frères Champagne Terre Natale. 10 years on the lees, old vines, low dosage, clean farming, and Frank Murray III approved for that low of a tariff? What am I missing? Is it just that Ludes isn't as acclaimed as other regions? It looks like one of my favorites, Ployez-Jacqyemart, is also in Ludes? Yes please!

I've heard '12 is great for noirs but not for chardonnay? Absolutely everything I've read says '08 is better than '12?

It’s supremely easy to drink and goes with everything. Very nice acidity and balance. It’s the type of champagne that you can drink a bottle of without even noticing. Very little guilt popping at at $29/pop

*pokes head in* hello, relative Champagne novice and Envoyer newbie here. does this site offer at lower prices in its mailing list? 2006 Comtes (which I very recently had and it made me actually revaluate my entire view on Champagne) is available on W-S, will this site periodically offer it cheaper? or do people just like the variety/availability?

Envoyer has great deals on Champagne, especially grower bubbles. They regularly offer the 2006 Comtes for $120 but that is coming to the end of its run. They just offered the 2007 at $110.

Sometimes prices are better than what you're likely to find elsewhere. Sometimes the same. Infrequently higher.

For me at least (and I think I'm not alone) is the wide variety of Champagnes put on offer - it can be pretty hard to find such a variety in even the best of local stores.

Just received from Envoyer:
A message from the owner about European tariffs
Dear valued customer;

As you may know, the United States Government has issued tariffs on French, Spanish, and German still wines under 14% alcohol . At this point, Champagne, Italian wines, wines over 14% alcohol, and wines 2 liters or more are exempt. We have been following these proposed changes in the imposition of tariffs closely in the hopes the imposition of these new tariffs would not occur, and/or would be further delayed. In preparation for this change, we used our best efforts to bring in as many containers as we could before the upcoming governmental change. Also, we were able ship via air, at our cost, a container that arrived earlier this week. Unfortunately, our sea shipment that is arriving later in the month could not be expedited and will get hit by the new tariffs. In an effort to minimize the impact of the tariffs on our customers wines, we prioritized bringing in still wines from France, Germany, and Spain. Unfortunately, the majority of our Champagne and Italian wines will be delayed until after the new year. Rest assured, all of the champagne and wines in Europe are being stored in a temperature-controlled environment and have been paid for by us. We will continue to selectively sell French, German, and Spanish wines whether it be wines we own, are bringing in ourselves, or from local suppliers.

With the amount of wine we currently have in our warehouse, the shipping department will be very busy. We would appreciate if you would accommodate us if we reach out to you regarding shipping wines due to the volume in our back room. If you are unable to receive a shipment at this time, we would appreciate it if you could provide us with a future shipping date. Due to the high volume of shipments, we may not have time to send an exact list of your wines before your order is packed. We would appreciate it if we could ship all of your wines that are currently in stock, and we will send you a list once the shipment has left the building. Thank you all for your patience and your continued support during this period.
Naturally, should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,

Greg Koslosky

Can’t say enough good things about Envoyer and Greg and his team. I buy with confidence and only problem I’ve had is explaining to my wife why I need all this wine!

so like a lot of people here i started buying from envoyer due to these threads. i have a bunch of wines which were to arrive as early as 1/19 which i still haven't heard anything about. most of what i have ordered is outstanding. is there a limit to how long everyone waits?
i was mildly involved with a company that failed to deliver and i don't want to relive that. i love the offers and have had a few deliveries.
but still, someone calm my nerves.
if this is all just how it works, tell me and i'm good.
thanks

You are ok. You must have ordered a lot of pre-arrivals. They will deliver once things come in and weather is safe.

If there is one frustration I have with Envoyer is that there's not a clear sense (or even a rough sense) of when a given wine may arrive and be available for shipping.
