TN: 2013 Wittmann Westhofener Morstein Riesling Großes Gewächs

  • 2013 Wittmann Westhofener Morstein Riesling Großes Gewächs - Germany, Rheinhessen (5/11/2017)
    Color: Light golden yellow
Smell: Chalk, lime, coconut rind, and sea spray
Taste: Lemon, lime, green apple, star fruit, pineapple, and a barrage of tropical fruits that just seem to keep rolling out across the palate.
Overall: This is lovely…and austere…but not as austere as the Brunnenhauschen. Medium body, high acidity, med++ fruit, and a depth of complexity on the palate and the finish that just keeps lingering. Outstanding!! This is good to go now and seems as if it could gain some complexity with time sideways still.

I agree. Had this wine on Saturday with some amazing wines and it was outstanding:

Great notes. I have a mag of that in my son’s birth year cellar.

HDH had mags of this at a VERY reasonable price…I think you’ll be VERY happy when you eventually open this.
