The next issue is on Chateauneuf du Pape. Perfect for bathroom reading, for sure.

Just be careful of buying any of their add on subscriptions, which look superficially 'cheap' for $2.
What these kinds of companies try to do is use that bait to get your credit card info, and then book renewals at crazy prices.
We had a family member with dementia who was constantly falling for that kind of crap, and had lots of $400 People magazine subscriptions to cancel after they had passed away.
I looked through the T&C of the WS offer, and it didn't seem like there was any auto renewal risk. They do state that they will email you after the 15 issues are up to request a renewal. But presumably they don't have any billing method, since Groupon kept that for themselves. (That's the whole thing behind the voucher # nonsense, and the two step set up process)

"Not Available" for me as well.
IMHO - it isn't worth $50 but isn't bad for $15.
I give this deal 70 points!

You could always get it for free on https://www.rewardsurvey.com, even if you sign up and always answer with some BS information. Just make sure you don't hand over any CC information and you're golden. That's how I've been getting my subscription for years.

Totally legit. How they get you is with those cheap "add-on subscriptions". They'll renew you at full price every year after that and it's almost impossible to stop the subscriptions. If you don't hand over any CC information, you're good to go.Will P@yne wrote:Wait- really? I was weary at first, but at the price of $0, figured it was worth a shot. Took about a month or two for the magazines to come in.

I usually use my old airline mile points via MagsforMiles. Usually 900 to 1200 miles for 1 year and apply every 11 months to avoid missing an issue.

And here we have the winner. I've been doing this because 900 miles, at 2 cents per miles is $18. I can be a sport at that price.MikeO wrote:I usually use my old airline mile points via MagsforMiles. Usually 900 to 1200 miles for 1 year and apply every 11 months to avoid missing an issue.

Is 2 cents per mile really still a legitimate value? I've seen most estimates be closer to 1.5 lately and that matches my experience in trying to use them. At 1.5, 900 points becomes an even better deal.

Wow, thanks. I just did their survey and asked for a wine spectator subscription. Nice. My redemptions have been really shitty too the last few years. Only ways I've gotten decent value is long haul foreign excursions. I don't think I'm going to play that scam anymore, and basically mostly moved to simple cash back cards, and whichever flight is cheapest/best fitting schedule wise.Jeff Bloom wrote:Is 2 cents per mile really still a legitimate value? It all depends on your preferences. In the last year, I've redeemed for Lufthansa and JAL first class for last minute travel, and that has been well worth it-- especially as JAL serves Salon up front!Jeff Bloom wrote:Is 2 cents per mile really still a legitimate value? If you can do it, that's definitely the way to go. Best flight I ever had was first class trans-Atlantic on Lufthansa on points. I haven't been very successful in finding the seats lately, though.Ross Massey wrote:It all depends on your preferences. Has anyone else had issues with their delivery? I got 3 issues then it stopped. Contacted wine spectator and they said I need to contact blue dolphin since the subscription was through them. Emailed their customer care 5 times and have not received any response for 2 weeks.

Exactly. I had forgotten until I was at the airport and saw an issue at the magazine stand and realized that I was supposed to have a subscription.Eric S n y d e r wrote:Funny you mentioned that, I noticed yesterday that it had been awhile since I received an issue.JeromeHan wrote:Has anyone else had issues with their delivery? No problems getting mine. Last issue was a couple weeks ago.
FYI, you can get these for miles at https://magsformiles.com/
That is how I do it. Haven't paid cash for a subscription in years.

AA is the worst. I ended up paying $75 per flight segment for one trip, plus taxes, which worked out to many hundreds of dollars.Arv R wrote:My redemptions have been really shitty too the last few years. Re: Groupon for Wine Spectator
I don't think I've ever renewed anything with WS, but the issues keep on coming, years later.
The TN's in the back, and some of the producer profiles/advertorials are ok though. I will give them some credit for that. Lots of props to doing all their tastings blind too.
Not as pukey as I recall, well maybe except for the Jon Bon Jovi one from a while ago.

Answer a few questions and bingo. The selections always change and obviously don’t pick one where they charge you anything (I assume they will auto renew), but WS has always been free and available. It’s worked for 5-10 years for me.

Usually get it via "Mags for Miles" using orphan United Airlines points.
Worth it just for the pictures.
