2001 Gevrey Chambertin "Champeaux" - Fourrier

2001 Gevrey Chambertin “Champeaux” - Fourrier
Medium/dark red with slight onion skin at edge.
Great floral, spicy, cinnamon/clove nose.
Powerful, firm, stony black cherry fruit entry led to a long, dry tannic finish.
This will age for many years and will need at least a decade to deliver optimum pleasure (unfortunately).
A beauty for those under 50… [cry.gif]

Thanks for the note. I have a 6-pack in bond storage, sadly I am over 50!

Interesting as the csj has consistently been very open over the last few years.

me, too, hence very few post 05 reds. Have to face actuarial reality.

I am in denial but '15 should be it, time to stop the madness.

Have you or anyone here got a guide of the quality Fourriers 2015’s?

I read somewhere that '15 Fourrier CSJ showed very well during EP tasting.

I´ve tasted them from barrel: very impressive, concentrated, but balanced, especially fine Griottes, CSJ (incl. Cuvee Centenaire), Combe aux Moines and Chambolle Gruenchers … but the rest isn´t bad either …
The additionally purchased wines are slightly less impressive …
