TN: 2015 Bougrier - Vouvray Grande Réserve Vieilles Vignes (France, Loire Valley, Vouvray)

2015 Famille Bougrier Vouvray Grande Réserve Vieilles Vignes - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray (12/17/2016)
– cork pulled one hour before initial taste –
– tasted non-blind over a couple hours –

NOSE: sweet, honeyed lychee; meh; simple; something seems “off”; medium+ expressiveness.

BODY: medium-full to full bodied.

TASTE: 11% alc., OFF-DRY (irritatingly not advertised as such anywhere on the bottle); weird, unpleasant aftertaste — something synthetic-like; low acidity; alc. not noticeable; paired well with spicy chicken chili, but I still don’t like it.; simple.

50, 5, 9, 12, 4 = (80 pts.)

Total Wine huh, grafs?

I thought you knew better! [snort.gif]

You got it, Bob.

And I do know better, but life is usually too busy for me these days to make the trek to a real wine store.

Is ok… Bacchus forgives such dalliances.

Cheers… hope to see you and clink glasses soon

I hope so, too, Bob. If the delay is longer than we’d like, it’s not for lack of wanting to!
