TN: 2014 Domaine Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes

Posted from CellarTracker

This is very nice! I love the 14 whites in Burgundy. After a super Sauzet Combettes, this is a nice followup.

Thank you for the note. It is a big exclamation point for me whenever “Oh my” or “Profound” are included in your post. Clearly a wonderful bottle.

Drinking recommendations? Picked up a few of these and the other 2014 1ers in Chassagne and had them shipped back, but have yet to crack one open.

I tried almost his entire line up in Burgundy last Summer (including his new St Aubin Dents de Chien). Having tried most vintages back to the late '80s, I think this is one of the Domaine’s strongest. Not only are the Grands Crus predictably brilliant but the PCs and lesser wines punch way above their weight too.

With 2015s looking a bit on the heavy side and 2016 ravaged by hail, I doubled up on my usual purchase.

This is the type of thread that costs me money.

Great note - sounds like a great wine.

The 2014 Morgeots is also fabulous

Love 14 whites, especially chablis.

Thanks for the note

Sounds great Don!

Drink as you like them. These are very balanced and fun right now to tell you the truth but seem to have good structure.

wasn’t going to buy any but this note twisted my arm into buying 3 bottles.

Me too. I am so weak.

Great note thank you Don.

Any recent tastings of '10 or '12, and how they might compare to '14?

Best Regards,
Alex

We will have to share one sometime soon. Happy New Year Dennis.

I often love what Ramonet does with that plot, thanks for the great TN Don.

All best,

Mike

John. It has been too long. We will have to share one of these soon.

Mike G. Thanks! This particular plot is favorite of mine.
