2014 Domaine Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes- France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (1/7/2017)
Oh my. Balanced fruit to acid. Great palate presence. Floral nose. Citrus palate. Long finish. Very young and extremely wonderful.
I tried almost his entire line up in Burgundy last Summer (including his new St Aubin Dents de Chien). Having tried most vintages back to the late '80s, I think this is one of the Domaine’s strongest. Not only are the Grands Crus predictably brilliant but the PCs and lesser wines punch way above their weight too.
With 2015s looking a bit on the heavy side and 2016 ravaged by hail, I doubled up on my usual purchase.
