Retailer check -NY Wine Warehouse

Any experience ordering wine from this outfit? Thank you…

I have ordered from them once. Everything went smoothly.

Off vintages, heated store in summer. I’d pass.

Geoffrey Troy’s place in Queens?

Superb. I have, as do many New York Geeks, true treasures from that place. Top Shelf

now Warehouse wine and spirits by Astor Place…see Pobega above

Ordered from them (NY Wine Warehouse) and it went well. Excellent selection, solid prices

Are you sure you’re referring to the same store? NY wine warehouse is really out of the way and has the whole store cooled, to the point where the employees wear jackets and winter hats. Their collection is also quite good.

To the OP - I personally recommend them highly.

NOT.

I could have the wrong place.
I was NOT referring to :
NY Wine Warehouse , 805 43rd Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101

but I was referring to :
Warehouse Wines & Spirits.
Sorry.

If you’re talking about http://www.nywines.com/ they are Burg specialists and have provided excellent service on multiple purchases; just picked up some $39 Ramonet Morgeot rouge there for my house red Burg.

Highly recommend Geoff Troy’s shop. Absolutely appropriate temp inside and amazing selection (in my opinion).

Very good.

Bought white burgs and champ from them. All went well.

That’s Warehouse Wines on Broadway at Astor Place. It’s a strange place. Lots of off vintages, obscure producers, dusty bottles that have sat there for ages, cheap plonk for NYU undergraduates. Kind of chaotic and dirty. But occasionally there are some overlooked gems there. I swing through once a year or so just out of curiosity.

NY Wine Warehouse is storage facility as well as doing some retail. Hence the chilly temperatures. I’ve stored wines there for 20+ years and have bought from them as well. Good folks. They’re in Long Island City, Queens, just over the 59th Street Bridge in an industrial area,

Oh lord. Another storage place that sells wine. Better check to make sure the owner isn’t an unlicensed child diddler.

Thanks all. Yes, it is the Long Island City business I was asking about.

Are you feelin’ groovy when you go there?

The sad thing is that I’m old enough to get the reference.

Williamsburg is groovier than Long Island City.

Geoffrey Troy is one of the best in the business, and I have been to see him many times this is a turn of the century brick warehouse and it’s freezing in there even on a 90+ degree day in the summer. Prices are reasonable to great deals and I’ve always had great service, though I’ve always picked up, never had anything shipped.

I stopped in Warehouse Wine & Spirits (the one in the Village) and it looks like they might have a new buyer or something. They had three or four small-lot Ridge bottlings (e.g., Lytton Estate grenache/syrah) and a bunch of new-wave California wines (e.g., Dirty & Rowdy). Also some good prices on 2015 Bourgognes, half bottles of Barolo and some stickies. The place is still kind of a mess – kind of run down and grungy. But the selection was more interesting than it has been in the past.
