2012 Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Noir Heritage - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Ribbon Ridge (11/30/2016)
Purchased this after tasting thru Marcus’ lineup at his tasting room over the 4th. Opened this before I read his write-up that suggests letting this age as long as possible - oh well at least I gave it about an hour decant. Big hit of ripe red cherry perfume on the nose. Loads more red cherry on the tongue along with red licorice, a bit of anise, cranberry, lively acidity and a medium long finish. My only bottle, so we’ll just have to grab a few more next time we’re in Portland visiting our son in order to see how it evolves in the long haul. (92 pts.)
