TN: 1978 Maison Leroy Auxey-Duresses Les Boutonniers

1978 Maison Leroy Auxey-Duresses Les Boutonniers - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Auxey-Duresses (11/30/2016)

First bottle with – 1 cm of ullage; light brown orange colour, strong sherry-like aromas, total oxidized and undrinkable.

Second bottle with – 2,5 cm of ullage; A wine with corn, caramel and complex aged yellow fruits on the nose. It exploded in the mouth with great ripe citrus mixed with rich nutty flavours and honeyed lingering acidity. This bottle 1978 Leroy Auxey Duresses was superb.

Great that you had a back-up bottle Barry.

Sounds nice. I wonder if this came from the same parcel in Boutonniers which Madame Leroy purchased for domaine d’Auvennay?

Les Boutonniers from Domaine d’Auvenay is impressive!
