Jean-Luc Jamet

I think it’s been a few years since Jean-Luc Jamet split from his brother and nephew and the rest of Domaine Jamet, but I’ve just noticed some of his wine appearing in my marketplace under the label Vignoble Jean-Luc Jamet: there’s a Cote Rotie Terrasses, two Cotes-du-Rhone (one white and one red, called Hautes Vignes), and one Syrah VDP (called Valine).

I’m not sure to what extent these wines are from fruit on plots formerly shared by the brothers, or whether some are from new plots or bought fruit? Does anyone have any experience with Vignoble Jean-Luc Jamet wines, and how they may differ stylistically from the “regular” Domaine Jamet?

Thanks.

Boris,
I recently tasted these wines with an agent of Jean-Luc’s in France.
This is Jean-Luc’s first vintage since the division of the domaine’s parcels between the two brothers.

You should not hesitate to try a bottle if the pricing is in your comfort zone.

Thanks Patrick. I had a chance to try the two CdR’s, both in the $30-35 range. Red was impressive, white less so. Both sold out quickly. At $125, I didn’t try the Cote-Rotie.
