Great Tassie Pinot and texting SNAFU

Last night I cracked a 2012 Holyman Project X Pinot Noir from Tasmania and it was rocking. Impeccably ripe black cherry fruits, dusted with icing sugar and a resonating layered finish. Incredible mouth perfume and peacocks tail. Truly a great Aussie Pinot Noir.

I was moved to send the winemaker Jo Holyman a text to congratulate him. It went something like this ‘Just opened a bottle of 2012 Project X…just a beautiful wine, wonderful mouth perfume and persistence. Brilliant stiff Jo’

To which he replied ‘I am happy that you get stiff Kent’.

Bloody predictive texting. Blood good wine.

He is a good man that Joe Holyman and making some seriously good booze.

I’m glad you can still get excited about things mate.

That’s very funny!

Best,

Kenney

Dusted with icing sugar? Explain.

A touch of fruit sweetness Chris. Often see this in deliciously ripe Pinots.
