Opus One '15 in stock at Pentagon City, Arlington, VA Costco. $283.99 each. They got one case, I bought 3 bottles, so they have 3 left as of now. Looks like they received them 3 days ago.

Reading this Makes me think i should buy some 2014 at a local shop here for $199. I just cant pull the trigger. Is Opus One kind of making a comeback? Seems like it was out of favor for a while? I know very little about it honestly.

There’s a ton of great bottles in or under that price range. Check out Tor.

+1. I would buy so many other wines before buying Opus. No offense to anyone who likes O1, though. :)

That's a great price, I think Costco last year was $240-250 for the '14. Opus is tends to draw some pretty strong opinions/emotions, best to just try a bottle and decide for yourself. It ages very well though. It's one of my favorite wines, and always a hit at parties, celebrations, holidays, etc. Certainly you will find other bottles in the same or less price range at higher ratings but still, one of my favs 😎

And I’m in SoCal!
Mine is mediocre at best, even though they recently added 50% to the store size.

I have the 2015 recently at a friends house. It was absolute garbage. Could’ve easily been a mass-market cab. Though, perhaps it is.

They were kind of separate thoughts, no i am not drinking it, I dont have that kind of money too spend on wine. I was speaking more to the fact that it was nearly a hundred bucks cheaper than Costco so the bargain hunter in me thinks it looks like a "deal", in theory anyways. And separately I was wondering if more people were drinking it again. I just had not seen any tasting notes or many mentions on the board lately. I guess I should ve stated up front that I was just curious about the brand.
Sorry

It does. I usually open a bottle after 5 years then another at 10 years. Really tasty at 10 years.

The Fairfax Costco has the 2015 Domaine Glantenay Volnay 1er Brouillards for $45. This is not Bernard and Thierry Glantenay, however. But $45 may be worth the gamble for some people.

They also have the 2016 Kirkland Chablis Premier Cru for $18 now.

In the Danville store the 2016 Sette Ponti Oreno is in stock for $55.89. There were about a dozen of them on Sunday when I was there. There were also magnums of 2012 Smith Haut Lafitte for $130.

Livermore has mags of 2012 Leoville Poyferre for 79.97...was advertised as 99.97, which seemed like a good deal, but was rung up at the lower price. There were 5 or 6 left yesterday.

If you are a Southern Rhône fan at all, go buy the ‘16 Kirkland Gigondas. $14.99. Loads of leather/cigar box, pepper and dark fruits. Drinking great right now.

Yes, I would buy at that price. Just had the 2008 last night and it is truly a gorgeous wine. Unfortunately, I think our Dallas Costco is pushing the 2014 Oreno for $75.99 right now. I'll pass on that vintage at that price. But would probably grab 6 of the '16 for $55!

These were at #471 today

BV 'Napa' CS $17 (I think this was the 2015?)
2016 Clos des Lunes 'Lune d'Argent' $11
2016 Dom. La Roche 'blanc' [Pessac Leognan] $6 (!!)
2014 Bolaire [Bordeaux] $11
2014 Mondavi 'Oakville' CS [Napa] $35
2015 Tourelles des Longueville [Pauillac] $20
(this is the 2nd or 3rd of Pichon Baron)

I picked up a bottle of the last one. It's been a long time since I've tried a Tourelles, maybe since the 89 vintage?

Also mags of the 2015 Fontallaro for $100 and double mags of the 2015 Nozzole CCR for $70.

08 Cristal here in AZ at $229. Pretty much WS Pro low and no shipping. Not too shabby.
08 Cristal is $199 at Costco in Omaha. 04 Pommery Cuvée Louise is $99.

Well damn. Just when I thought $229 was solid for 08 cristal here in AZ. Was it definitely the 08 vs. The 09?

Wonder if Costco would ever honor wine prices in other markets. Guessing not....but interested if anyone has ever asked.

Honestly I don’t remember the vintage. It might have been the 09. They had at least 8 bottles when I was there a little over a week ago.
