This is Carl Doumani who founded Stag's Leap Winery before selling it to Treasury. As part of the sale he kept some older vine PS vineyards that were part of the Estate. He also has Quixote winery, and I think Aaron Pott is making this and he is a superstar. Hard to go wrong.

Stopped by my local shop today, didn't see anything new...still had Valdicava (sp?) Brunnelo which I've tried and will pickup 4-6, but at $100/btl, no real hurry.

Those hit Costcos here a few months ago. Bought a few cases from one location that had them priced the same as regular DP - $148.99 at the time.

Haven’t seen any in stores recently, and regular DP pricing is now $155.99 to $159.99 at every location I’ve been to.

Not sure if there are any northern NV people on here but Reno Costco had 17 Sojourn Riddle Vineyard PN for $40 today. Release price was $59. Several cases left. They have also had 16 Chateau Siran for $30 for a while now, which punches above it's price tag IMO

In Reno as well.

Went back for more Riddle Vineyard this morning, and they had the Sojourn 18 Gaps Crown Chard for $30. According to the Sojourn website, it was not supposed to be released until fall of this year @$45. Both are labeled as the sonoma coast bottling on the costco tag so I think someone has messed up somewhere along the way

For Texas folks, the Western Beverages outlets that are contiguous to some Costcos have 2012 Cristal @ $220 a bottle. Fairly decent pricing in our market. I just picked up six bottle in the gift box.

The Danville Costco has some high-end Bordeaux for those who have a lot of disposable income. 1998 Petrus for $5499. The 2006 Duclos Collection for $8199. A vertical of 2001, 2009 and 2015 D'Yquem for $1799. 2009 Mouton for $739. Easily passing on all of those, I did grab some 2016 Chateau Maillet for $38. The 15% alcohol is a little concerning, but there were positive comments from Jane Anson regarding this estate in her new Bordeaux book and Jeff Leve also had some praise for it. It is hard to find any Pomerol at that price.

I bought a couple bottles of Albert Lebrun Grand Cru NV Brut Champagne at Costco yesterday for about $26 a bottle. I thought it was great juice for the price. I couldn't find any information on W-S basic, but I think it's a good find and will buy more.

Unhelpful post of the day - a midday checkin to #471 to get some of the elusive Kirkland Disinfectant Wipes* saw that there was basically no special deals on any wines there. Surprising, normally there is usually something. Some higher end Japanese whiskey's were there, but I don't know them well enough to identify if they were deal worthy.

* we scored some, but there are hardly any left. Look by the dog food aisle.

That was probably the 2006 Faustino Gran Reserva, and the price would fit, as its getting blown out at $22 at some internet sellers.

Yes, I can confirm it's the 2006 and is also available at the Dallas Costco location for $22. I thought about picking one up to try, but I've never really loved the Faustino's in the past....so haven't done so yet. Also saw a Kirkland Signature Columbia Valley Red Blend for $16.99....not something for me but I was curious what the source was.

Would LOVE to hear some thoughts on this one. 16 was outstanding, and 17 not so much. Given the vintage, I'd expect it to lean more towards 16 but I guess we'll see. Have to make a trip to Costco soon.

Oh man, just saw this! I know you liked the 16 as well and I believe felt similarly about the 17 (not so good), so that's a huge bummer for sure on the 18 :(

The source can change every year, so lightning isn't true, the 2016 my have been Stags's Leap Wine Cellars and 2017 could be Signorello. I remember years ago when Kirkland Super Tuscan was Tignanello and Kirkland Oakville Cab was Far Niente. We used to broker these so we used to see the COLA and source.
