Still some 2008 Cristal at Costco in Dana Point. I gritted my teeth and grabbed another for the cellar. Tempted to do more but exercised some discipline. [training.gif]
Price?
Assume $229 like every Costco.

There are a few California-only wine packages for sale online now. Have they done this before?

Summerlin-LV Costco yesterday-had the 2017 Chablis for $18.99 so I grabbed a few. Rolled around to the reds not expecting to find much-to my surprise, and my credit cards surprise they had 2016 Ormes de Pez ($33.99), d'Armailhac ($49.99), Giscours ($69.99), Brane Cantenac ($79.99). I believe there were others as well.

Not that this is useful for any but a few, but Missoula Costco has 2016 Malescot St. Exupery for $58.99, which strikes me as a very fair price for a highly rated '16 Bordeaux. We get few classified growth Bordeaux here at the Missoula Costco, but Malescot appears every year. The 2015, by comparison, was $49.99.

I found Rittenhouse Rye for $18.99 at the SLO Costco. There weren't very many on the shelf to begin with, and there were a couple fewer after I was done.

I left them for you young guys. I'll be well into my 70's before they'd be ready

They had some other nice Bordeaux bottles there in the $50-$150 range. Worth checking out

Picked up another case of Lutum from the San Francisco Costco. This must be my 7th (or 8th case?) in the last couple weeks. SF has ~10 cases of '17 Sanford and Benedict Chardonnay left. @ $20.

2017 Kirkland Russian River Pinot Noir. I must confess to being a retired member of the trade but this wine was unexpectedly good. So good I went back for a second bottle and they were out! Since it is a private label, brokered wine, the next bottling might not be as good. Any time you try a wine where the company doesn't own the vineyards, you have to add an additional level of caution. You might like the wine the first time and not so much the next even though the vintage shows the same. Not to worry in this case, the wine I had was competitive with burgundies costing $25. I wish I had bought more. newhere
Hope by referring to my website I am not violating any procedures? https://www.ricksmwu.com/rick-s-picks

Was in Kona Costco yesterday and the odd label in the 2015 Ornellaia ($179) caught my eye. It was an art label and bore a “Carisma” cuvée. They only had the one bottle amidst 5 regular labels. I bought it for the novelty...

They also just racked some additional 2016’s, this store has really gotten strong in collectible Bordeaux’s in the past two years. The new offerings were;
Giscours
Orme’s de Pez
Malescot
Pontesac
Duhart-Milon
Clerc-Milon

RWC had 2009 Mouton today for $740. Had a few other new 2016s in a new display case, like Lynch Bages. Quite a few 2009 Dom, with a handful of 2008 (at the bottom of the pile, have to look for it).

Seems no one has jumped yet at the handful of large formats they have (6L Giscours etc).
