I really thought I was going to need to wait this one out to develop but on a chance, I tried a bottle. Smooth (almost velvety), tannins well in check, nice balance of oak with a subtle vanilla undertone. I had a 2004 Mondavi Reserve not too long ago and this came close. I think the QPR (~$70) was quite good. Wonder what the future holds for this one. Now - I just need to find some more to stash away.
