2006 Arcadian Pinot Noir Dierberg Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Maria Valley (11/8/2009)
Had this at the OC Poker event. I got to take this home because of the wonderful generousity of Brian Grafstrom. Deep Garnet color to it. Bright cherries, wet earth (had that in my notes and saw the Jhannah had the same thing) and a some smoke coming through on the nose. Fruit forward with the cherries turning a little darker and really covering the mouth. This will do well a few years down the road as the balance of acid and tannins are excellent. The acidity is fantastic in this wine and the finish lasted forever. Makes me even more excited for my trip up there in exactly two weeks. Our appt is already set with Joe.
