TN: 1971 Cordero di Montezemolo Barolo Monfalletto (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo)

A little fig and soy at first that slowly morphed into cherry fruit and autumnal nebbiolo tones. Round and seemingly a warmer profile still with good fruit balanced nicely with acidity and a savory side with porcini and undergrowth adding to the surprisingly youthful (for its age) fruit. This still had lovely texture and balance. On the downslope of peak but still showing nicely. 91 pts (91 pts.)
