**2001 Dr. Hermann Erdener Treppchen Riesling Auslese **** - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (11/5/2009)
At cool room temp, a bit flabby and disjointed, but after I chilled this down a bit more it came together pretty nicely. Nose of cool green apples and lemon peel, echoed in the palate, along with a good helping of slatey minerality and a dash of petrol. Not a profound wine - in fact, as others have pointed out, more spat-ish than auslese. Medium weight, with a nice mouthfeel.
