TN: 2014 Dom. Chignard Fleurie Les Moriers

I picked up this bottle recently and decided to give it a test drive. An elegant and perfumy Fleurie, with vibrant midpalate acidity and notes of cranberry, rhubarb, and herbs throughout. The fruit is certainly ripe but not overly so, with lots of fine tannins on the finish. A lovely wine now that will continue to improve for at least 3-5 years in the cellar, and nicely priced in the low $20’s. A Fleurie that really delivers.

I sell this wine and know it well, and would say that is pretty much a perfect description of it.

Tasted the 2015 last week, deeply flavorful, very impressive.

On day two with the 2015. Given the vintage, really surprised by how rustic and chewy this shows. Needs time but has some solid materials to mature. Could be the most backward 2015 that I’ve tried.
