2014 Domaine de Vigneau-Chevreau Vouvray Cuvée Silex - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray (10/26/2015)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over approx. 3 hours –
NOSE: green pear; honey; light florals and light spicy wood note; somewhat simple.
BODY: pale yellow color; light to medium-light bodied.
TASTE: medium-light concentration of fruit; medium to medium+ acidity; seems pretty open; “winey” — green grapes mixed with a medium-light tangy mineral note; hints of jasmine and cardamom; hint of cinnamon on the finish. Very good, but not the best vintage I’ve had of this wine. I’m on the fence about buying again at the $20 price point.
