I don’t post notes often any more. (For me, taking notes distracts from the experience.)
I have to make an exception for this wine though. Nine years young this is classic Bordeaux. It’s chewy as the texture coats your mouth. While the fruit is evident, the flavors are of earth more than fruit. The nose is classic Bordeaux - great balance of earthy tones, hints of fruit and slate? This is an extremely satisfying wine, really scratches my Bordeaux itch. I paid $28 for this, twenty eight bucks! According to wine-searcher it can still be had for about $40. Who says you can’t find excellent French wine at a great price.
