Re: Wait list times
IIRC Ceritas (along with Carlisle, Williams Selyem, Turley, and maybe 1-2 others) has a wait list in that when you sign up they tell you that you are on a wait list but in practice it’s only until the next allocation. I signed up for Ceritas in Jan, was told I was on the wait list and got an April allocation.
I assume this allows wineries to claim to have a waitlist when they don’t really have one in practice.

Had my sister sign up before the Spring release and she made the leftover offering then, with an actual offering on the recent one (though not many wines available)

I responded to the original sign-up email from Next Of Kyn in 2010 about two hours after it hit my inbox... I received first allocation in 2019.

Re: Wait list times
I have let more than half of my mailing lists go! I still get some Turley, Bedrock (where I think increased sourcing and production has balanced out the waiting list issue... and they are terrific folks), Under the Wire, Myriad, Saxum, Hirsch, Torrin, Daou, and Sojourn. I think that Saxum is quite clearly an excellent producer and has been very careful about price-point not getting out of hand as opposed to others I see above that have gotten crazy, and I stopped buying already. Mike Smith and Myriad same thing... especially based upon quality! Daou has a great sense of marketing and pricing. Torrin remains a wonderful value in pricing. And, I have terrific pricing and availability thru Jim Nejaime/Spirited Wines in Lenox MA particularly with regard to all of the international wines I purchase.
So much of the wine I like requires age (my palate), at this point I stay on the mailing lists my son has great interest in! It is funny following wineries on instagram and seeing that my son has already reacted to wine postings before I can get there!

You will feel like a heavy hitter and buy too much wine too fast. Been there, done that.

Re: Wait list times
Regarding Ultramarine, I have no data on what the current wait is. But they seem to not be very aggressive about kicking people off, because I think I last bought from them in 2016, and got (and bought) an allocation this year.

Interesting. I signed up in October 2016 and didn't get an offer. I got the update/dosage trial email back in June but that's it. Very curious on Tusk, can anyone comment on how they got onto the list? Also, what the recent cost was per bottle, have a feeling online pricing is inflated, or maybe not?

More than a little surprised that Rochioli has Not been part of this discussion. IMO, one of the very best Pinots (the SVD’s) in California. Drank a 96 West Block last year, and it was singing, and could have gone ten more years. Still have most of my 04’s - looking forward to them.
When I got on the list in 2003 - the wait was 7 years. I don’t think they have increased production - we certainly are not offered more than a case a year of combined SVD’s - same as 17 years ago.
I’d wager the wait is still 7 plus years, and worth it!

I just got in last year after about 5 years on the list. They wouldn't even send me an email saying I was on a list or that I was still on a list. Just got my first round of SVDs. I buy something at every offer. I'm afraid I'm going to get kicked off. I also load up on WS Rochioli. Any idea what the wait is for Leonetti?
I get a few of their Merlot and Sangiovese (my faves) from a friend, so I never signed up.

Re: Wait list times
Things may have changed in the last 10 years, but when I was on their list, you had to buy a lot of lower quality stuff, including what they called "picnic wines." I did that for two years before I got my first SVD offer. When I only bought the SVD pinots and not my wholes allocation, they dropped me.Andrew Ing wrote: ↑October 14th, 2020, 6:39 pmI just got in last year after about 5 years on the list. Does Lewelling still have a wait?
It's C(raig)
Re: Wait list times
I signed up for Lewelling in May of this year and was told I was on the waitlist. However, I received an offer email for the 2018 release that was a week or so ago. So if there is a wait list, it wasn’t very long.

Interesting. I guess I signed up when I was in their tasting room in Healdsburg around 2016. They sent me an offer out of the blue last Spring, I assumed it was COVID related. I did pick up a couple of bottles of Rachel's Chard, but passed on the rest. Are they really worth $70+?Len Stevens wrote: ↑November 21st, 2020, 7:25 amMade the SVD last year...11 yearsNevin Miller wrote: ↑October 14th, 2020, 5:01 pm More than a little surprised that Rochioli has Not been part of this discussion. Re: Wait list times
I’d get on it ASAP ... One of the 16’s just got 100 from Galloni (along with being a top 10 or 20 or something wine of the year for 2020), and that list isn’t going to get any shorter. I got on the list shortly after tasting a Sleeping Lady ‘16 I got in a club shipment from ACME in St Helena (so ... right after the first vintage came out), and by then it was already on a waiting list.
I'm a good man ... in fact, it's my last name
