San Diego wine & food recommendations?

(Cross-posted in Wine Talk/Epicurean)

Will be attending a meeting in San Diego, staying near the Convention Center.
Would be grateful for any good tips on good food and equally good wine in the vicinity. Thanks in advance!

will you have a car? do you like beer (I think beer options are so good in San Diego)?

Cucina Urbana
Bankers Hill Bar & Restaurant
Juniper & Ivy
Ironside Fish & Oyster

No car, but there’s always Über!
Very much pro-beer.

Is Seersucker still open? I was there a few years ago and thought it was good. Just a couple blocks from the convention center. ok, but not great wine list.

Modern Times is close to the gas lamp (go to the one off greenwood street) and is next to a Stone Liberty Station, you’ll need to uber. Also check out Societe/council if you like IPAs, I’d uber there and then grab dinner at O’Briens/Common Theory which both have awesome tap lists and decent food. Ballast point and Alesmith are pretty close to each other as well.

Bars wise in san diego. Neighborhood in gaslamp does a killer burger and has a great tap list. Ballast point has an outpost near gaslamp in little italy. Downtown Johnny Brown is in gas lamp area and is a great pub
