From a steep cool climate vineyard, it still comes in at 15.9% alcohol. Fortunately it's hidden well. At first it revealed typical simple primary fruit -- blackberries and such but it opened up nicely. For such a high alcohol wine it is really rather medium weight, sort of light on its feet and not particularly dark. It reminds me of Deloach RRV zins from the 80s made from ancient vineyards (Barbieri and Papera) . The next night it was damn near Pinot like, earthier and really lovely. [cheers.gif]

Just a few cases made from a tiny 1.7 acre Kunde family owned vineyard. Only $24 bucks at Carrboro's Glasshalfull on Monday 1/2 price wine night. Retails ~ $30-35 I think.

Is this related at all to the Fort Ross wines?
Apparently I'm lazy, have a narrow agenda, and offer little in the way of content and substance (RMP) (and have a "penchant for gossip" -KBI)
