Seems one of these are posted every year. Be honest… hopefully no SOs are looking
Kind of sad that I consider this ‘reasonable’ but my palate is moving more European
3x 12 Jean Edwards GIII cab
3x 09 Congruence cab
1x Keating Oak series sampler
1x Lagier Meredith syrah vertical
a mixed 6-pack of Cowan
a mixed case of Veleta
a mixed case from Down To Earth (mostly German rieslings)
This dovetailed nicely with my pledge last year to explore more of CA (after buying almost exclusively old world for years). There were several others I would have loved to pull the trigger on (incl. Flannery) if I had the money or space. The CC is in pain right now after the holidays, plus Dirty & Rowdy, Kutch, and Rhys – as well as a usual smattering of old-world purchases.
It’s tough for me because I want to buy pretty much all of them, so I have to change it up, choosing some on some years, others on other years.
This year’s take:
Random Wine Company 6-pack Sampler
Match Cabs, 2 vintages, 2 vineyards
Bougetz Cab Vertical
Bailiwick Cab Franc Pack
Dacalier De La Terre Case
Lagier Meredith Syrah Vertical
Riverrain Cab and Syrah
Cowan Cellars 4-packs (2! plus Ribolla)
Rascal Reisling case
Jean Edwards 2011 Cabs
Cabot Syrah 6-er
Congruence Cab
Gabriel Glas decanter
Virage 4-pack
HOLY SHIT. I wish I hadn’t written that all down. Reality bites. I’m screwed.
Liquid Farm
Halcon
7 of Hearts
Vincent
Couple of trisaetum Rieslings from WL and a WL library pass.
Grueling decisions. So much wonderful wine at great prices, but I somehow stuck to my budget.
Fun fact: I managed to dislocate my shoulder while tucking my son in after a long hard day of berserkering. Nothing like ending a great day with an ER visit!
And no, I don’t know how one dislocates their shoulder tucking a two year old in either.
