What Wines Do You Have Lined Up For The Holidays?

Even though it’s still the middle of the crazy season in the trade, I’m still looking forward to some fun dinners and awesome wines! What wines do you think you’ll be opening to celebrate all the joy of 2014? I’ve been standing up a few, and pulling others out of storage - kind of making the list and checking it twice, so to speak…and my list is subject to additions and subtractions as we go!

  1. Gaja 1990 Sori San Lorenzo
  2. Raveneau 1997 Montee de Tonnerre
  3. Chateau Cheval Blanc 1998
  4. Chateau d’Yquem 1995
  5. Jean-Marc Millot 1999 Echezeaux
  6. Champagne. Lots of Champagne. Whenever possible. champagne.gif

You’ll enjoy the 95 Yquem. I had it in the last few months and it was showing well right now.

Andrew,

I had the 01 Larkmead Solari last night to kind of kick off the holidays at home. Took a few minutes to blossom, but it was a real treat - beautiful, balanced, wine.

Sounds awesome. I think the oldest Solari I’ve had was an '04.

'95 la Louviere

'01 Jadot NSG Les Porrets
'96 Jean Tardy Vosne Les Chaumes (had with friends Saturday)
And whatever else gets opened!

Visiting our daughters in NYC over Christmas, bringing these with.
1988 Rene Engel Clos Vougeot

We usually have a Napa Cab with snacks for Xmas Eve. This year, 08 Scarecrow and 08 Schrader T6. I’ll pop the corks about 4 hours ahead. [highfive.gif]
