Even though it’s still the middle of the crazy season in the trade, I’m still looking forward to some fun dinners and awesome wines! What wines do you think you’ll be opening to celebrate all the joy of 2014? I’ve been standing up a few, and pulling others out of storage - kind of making the list and checking it twice, so to speak…and my list is subject to additions and subtractions as we go!
1970 Leoville Las Cases
1973 Drouhin Clos des Beze
1993 Montille Pommard Rugiens
1993 Clos de Tart
1998 Clos de Tart
That’s a start.
And Savart and Jacquesson Champagne
2006 O’Shaughnessy Howell Mtn. Cab
2003 Dunn Howell Mtn. Cab
2004 Anderson’s Conn Valley Eloge
2007 Clos St. Jean CDP
2004 Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona Brunello Riserva Santa Caterina D’Oro Vigna di Pianrosso (isn’t that a mouthful?)
2001 Larkmead Cab
yeah, my family are non-oenophiles. So I am just bringing some of the '14 Chermette Beaujolais Nouveau. At least I can tell them about the estate. Might bring some auslese equivalent Riesling from the Finger Lakes.
I had the 01 Larkmead Solari last night to kind of kick off the holidays at home. Took a few minutes to blossom, but it was a real treat - beautiful, balanced, wine.
'95 la Louviere
'83 Lynch-Moussas
'01 Jadot NSG Les Porrets
'96 Jean Tardy Vosne Les Chaumes (had with friends Saturday)
And whatever else gets opened!
starting off with young Napa for me as well - trying a Bevan Cellars Tin Box 2012 and Fairchild Sigaro 2011; will probably open up a 2003 Clos des Papes too
