Here is a poll to see how others feel. Yes, I was a MI customer. Yes, I am not satisfied. But others may feel differently.Vote your conscience.

Gee Whiz Steve!! Isn't this sort of a bootleg posting? Lets all take some time to see how, in the middle of January, things resolve, or not, and then take a poll.

BTW, just ordered some white truffles, and looking forward to washing them down with some Cali sparkling wine. Happy holidays to you all!!!

Well, I followed the insanity over here, but am concerned about the 2012s. Mainly cause of all the drama. I do know that there has been basically no activity on the Maison Ilan twitter, facebook, or blog sites since late october. All the crazy rumors have me concerned, but I wouldn't have been concerned otherwise. At the end of the day, I only have a 1/2 case each of 2012s and 2013s, and while it would suck if I didn't get them, its not the end of the world.

Based upon the last 2 years, MI sends out the presale offers at the end of december. If so, will I buy? Probably not until I get my 2012s, or a resolution to whats going on with other customers missing 2011s.

Absolutely not. I have not been a buyer, but about six months ago I thought about trying to seek some out or get on the list. I wouldn't pay him a dollar a bottle now if he begged me.

Why? What in god's name is the point? Aren't there 100 pages of this, closed for the season? What possible reason was there to start this thread, other than boredom or just plain viciousness.

Withdrawal. First the Rudy thread goes dormant, then the MI thread gets locked (albeit temporarily). Berserkers worldwide in need of their drama fix are starting to get the shakes.

Todd, I was enjoying the break. Close this until after Christmas.
I used to have a modest burgundyman url as a signature. Now if you want to learn about luxury winelover accomodation in Meursault you have to finish reading this much more promotional sentence and press the button with 3 W's in it.

Because someone accused me of viciousness after the fact. If people, like the new Stephane, with 8 posts, feel different,y, they can vote so. I, like everyone else, only have one vote.

Hello Steve,
While my last name's close to another one, there's no connection or whatever.
I'm no MI customer. I don't buy futures because I don't like buying something that does not exist yet or may not ever exist (a bit oversimplified). One way to avoid a MI experience I guess.
That's not the only experience. There's a sadly well known firm in France which used to specialize in futures (based on the principle that they would be able to find wines on the market at lower price, they were not hedging their futures with producers). As a result many customers never received their wines nor any compensantion (or ridiculous one). I'm pretty sure there are similar exemple of futures going awry in USA, no?

Best regards

Respectfully, doesn't it make sense to just leave this topic alone until the New Year? Even if just out of simple respect for Todd? The other thread will come back when he unlocks it. How about everyone just focus on positive things for a week or two instead of flogging this well worn and unfortunate topic?

It's an anonymous poll. It allows people to give their opinion free from any anti-Ray Walker group think.

It's interesting and people don't have to comment.

If to this day, any doubts remained about the real intentions of MI's detractors/haters, there shouldn't be any unanswered questions left in your minds...

This "poll" just shows the world again how obsessed, nasty and vicious some of you are.

Sad it is.

Stephane, 151 posts and all about MI or Ray Walker does not give you a right to call for a closing of a thread no matter how asinine it may be. Throw some tasting notes, buying insights or grape growing thoughts as related to regions, climates or peculiarities and make none ML related and do that for say six months and then come back a decry foul on any or all threads you see the need to.

Back off and have a Merry Christmas. Post the notes afterward.... :)

Another Maison Ilan thread that veers off from the subject (a poll) and turns into personal attacks - I'm locking this and any other MI thread until after the holidays. Be joyful for a few days!!

Lol . . . now that was funny.

In all seriousness, if there was a thread about TNs on MI, then I get it - it's helpful to the Board. But all this bashing and personal attacks becomes a vicious cycle that does this community no good.

I do, however, represent a domestic Black Wagyu concern that will be bringing product to market soon. Debut will be in Napa Spring '16.

Negative.

We are going to drop a lot of free product to judge acceptance and interest. After evaluation, we will come up with a reasonable plan in regard to cost, production and distribution.

I had two appointments with Ray when I was in Burgundy. When I went the first time, he said he had an emergency and we set an appointment for the following day. I went back at the appointed time and he was not there. That told me all I needed to know about how well he keeps commitments.

The poll currently indicates that 70% of previous customers would not buy again and that 89% of people who have not been involved with MI up until now, would not buy in future. While this is a imprecise poll, it may atleast highlight the power of one's reputation.

You can get real time inventory as well, in case you are looking for your wine.

Would you Buy From Maison Ilan

At this point, I'd rather Photoshop one of his labels and slap it on a bottle of Meomi and save myself a lot of grief.

Even if I did buy the actual item and by some miracle it was delivered appropriately, I wouldn't trust it to contain what it said it contained.
