Haven’t tried the 2010, but these are generally backward monsters. Still with a lot of air, it will show something.

I had a 2006 a month or two ago and “backwards monster” barely captures the mouth-spanking tannins and hidden fruit. Bury it deep
Same with 2007 I had a tear ago. Delicious, riveting wine, but very tight, rustic and brooding.
I think these are serious long agers, but in my experience they don’t really go through a “closed” phase. Granted I haven’t tried (but I do own) this vintage, but they can be very tasty young with a decant.

Hide it for a long time but if you’re Brett-adverse, sell or trade it. Galardi used to be my favorite Italian wine. Have gone through quite a few cases of it. But I started noticing 4-EP/4-EG in the 2006 vintage. The 2008 had so much I couldn’t drink it. Was told the 2010 was clean so I bought a six-pack. Big mistake. Brett-city. But if you like Brett, you’ll love this wine.
Backwards-monster reputation notwithstanding, the 2009 was insanely drinkable for me recently. Maybe a good choice if you want to try one young.
The 2010 was showing really well when I tasted it, but that was around two years ago. It may have shut down since then. The CT notes I’ve read suggest others found it open when I did, but that it has since closed up.
Wow, great feedback guys! I had a feeling this would be best served in another decade. We brought a 2003 Lagier Merepdith Syrah instead which is a just a few year closer to maturity than the Italian.
Mike, I’m not nearly as sensitive to brett as you are so a little barnyard won’t affect me. Thanks for the heads-up though. It will definitely affect my drinking decision.
