TN: 2012 Sandler Boer Vineyard Pinot Noir

I haven’t posted many notes lately, but I felt like this wine deserved some mention based on how much I enjoyed it. Light ruby color in the glass, it looks like a much older wine. The nose is equal parts tart red fruit and dirt. The excitement happens in the mouth, when the flavors start to pop. Red pomegranate, wet forest floor, some leather, and a hint of vanillin. Young, but very interesting. Long finish. I wish I had a few more bottles of this.

The tasting note may seem pretty ordinary, but putting the words aside I really loved this bottle.

The entire '12 lineup of Sandler Pinots were great - that was a fantastic BerserkerDay buy, for sure. He sold a crazy number of cases.

I’ve enjoyed this as well from the Berserker Day score. I’ve been a Sandler fan for a while. Great QPR.

Ed’s Sandler wines are a real treat, one of a very short list of mailing list wines I still buy. The grenache from this vineyard is very, very good IMHO
