I was in the second wave. No syrah left to even wish list, but I bought my full allocation of everything else plus wish listed a couple to get to twelve bottles. Two different Chenin, Trousseau, Contra Costa Red. The Mataro was listed in my allocation but was sold out within the 30 minutes from e-mail received to purchasing.

I was surprised that the Mataro was still available. It's usually gone in the first wave.

First time with Sandlands. Scooped the Mataro, table wine and trousseau. I must’ve been one of the last buyers of Mataro as it appears sold out

First timer trying Sandlands - Grabbed both Chenins, Trousseau and table wine.....

Missed the Mataro.... =(

Someone needs to post some notes on the Refosco, its sounds really interesting.

Can someone describe the style of the Sandlands wines, as compared to other board favorites that make Mataro, Chenin and Carignane, eg Bedrock, D&R, Etc.

Thanks!

Not anytime soon. Maybe in about 3-4 years. [cheers.gif]

They're in a similar wheelhouse to Arnot-Roberts or Birichino in terms of style.

Riper than Arnot but less so than a Ridge.

Same with me, Sean. Glad to have been allocated what I was, which I purchased in its entirety, but wished that I could have wish listed the Mataro and the Refosco, which I was not given the opportunity to do.

Can't compare to the ones you mentioned, but they are very pure fruited with rich bodies, not really acid driven or underfruited but hardly ever excessive. They remind of something you'd make and serve at an old California ranch and have for dinner informally.

Received an email today that my wish list request was granted. Didn’t expect it this late.

Incoming, due to arrive today. Not sure where I’m going to put it.
I need to have a “help me drink my wine” offline.

I'm in Florida as well, received shipment notification from FedEx yesterday morning with delivery scheduled for Tuesday. This is my first Sandlands order and looks like they use Vinfillment. My Bedrock order was put on weather hold by Vinfillment earlier this week. Anyone know if Sandlands doesn't do weather holds or if they package differently?

Very strange, I emailed Vinfillment to see if they can release the shipment. Weather looks clear through the weekend.

This is my situation as well. Weather hold for Bedrock, shipment en route for Sandlands.

My Bedrock shipment is en route. Set to be delivered tomorrow.

I didn’t receive anything from Sandlands. Emailed them yesterday afternoon but haven’t heard back.

Another Floridian.
Sandlands is tracking for next Tuesday.
Bedrock is supposed to be here tomorrow.
I believe I have Rivers-Marie coming next week too.

With the global warming, hurricanes, twisters, polar vortex, ice age, one state 90 degrees, next state over -20 degrees, floods, mud slides, brush fires, sunny skies, hail, drought, normal temps and nuclear disasters...it looks like everyone will need to upgrade for same day delivery for $400 / case. Please request a non-Boeing 737. Good luck and God speed....

Cheers,
JP

Heck, even today in Chicagoland I saw sunny skies, rain, intense wind...and a "weather hold" for one wine delivery while another "made it through" for tomorrow. Oh well; roll with the punches...

Cheers,
JP

After I emailed Vinfillment yesterday, they released my Bedrock shipment. Temps across the US look fine and South Florida will be will be in the 70s most of next week so not too worried.

Heard back today. Looks like shipping issues for us (I’m sure few) Oklahomans due to permits.

Refosco. Gonna have to be really patient to not open it up. Never tried one...
