Re: How adventurous is your palate?

I'm fortunate being ITB I get to taste several varietals . As far as personally we try a few different things but not as many as I would like, my better half has a subdued palate where he typically likes bigger wines.

Re: 2006 Keever Cab is here--$90--Ouch!

I think this is probably the biggest price increase I've seen in one vintage on a wine that is relatively unknown.

Re: Vineyards and water rationing

The News Guru's keep reporting on the upcoming water rationing and it being mandatory in parts of Sonoma Co already. What is going to happen in your vineyards if/when this takes place? It sure doesn't look like we have much rain on the horizon. Was January not very productive from a total rainfall ...

Re: Long Shadows Vintners????

Ms. Bowman, they have at least three cases of each. Don't know if it is some sort of promo deal or what. I am interted in the Rolland and Duval wines. Bill, I was only surprised they are in Costco because my impression is most of the production has not been that big.. The Pedestal Merlot (Michel Ro...

I had a Burr grinder, it burr-roke. I had to clean my coffee/spice blade grinder to use until I get another grinder.
What does the Kirkland Blend taste like? I've not had that one .

Chris,
I like many WA Syrahs and other varietals from there. I have already put some CA Syrahs out to pasture.
Good to see you over here

How has your palate evolved?

Just curious as to what varietals you started with and how your palate has evolved over your wine drinking years. Is what you're drinking now totally different than what you used to like? We use to drink lots of high octane Aussie wines and now we drink some whites, Pinots, Zins, more domestic than ...

Re: "Recorking" A Riesling With A Glass Closure?

We drink a couple different wines that come with a glass enclosure, they are easier than a cork to put back in and we have not had any problems with the wine when reopening the next day.

Sipping on an '06 Dierberg Estate Pinot that should have been opened earlier or at least decanted . So far I think like the '05 better, it had more finesse.

Re: Vintages in CA

The winemakers that we have come across at our store have said they believe 2007 Cabs to be one of the best vintages in a long time but I have heard that from many winemakers about other vintages but there are a few that I actually hold their word to be credible when they say it.

A bagel is a bagel and I wouldn't want lox & cream cheese on one with all that stuff like glaze, raisins etc. I'm more of a traditionalist for most foods, there are some that it's ok to alter. No fruit on my pizza either and I don't like strange stuff in my Latkas, Knishes or Matzoh Ball Soup.

Re: "Gulpable" Wines?

Roy,
The Fisticuffs Cab is pretty good for $29, I think it 14% but really easy to drink. I haven't tried the '06, I think it releases in a few weeks.
Cheers,
Carrie
