~180-200/year in recent years (which is "consumed" per cellartracker figures - so a few are gifts). A decent amount of that is bringing wine to others' dinners, and it doesn't include most restaurant purchases.

The problem is that I buy well more than that each year . . .

Honestly, I would look into a Coolbot. Only 300 bucks + a normal window AC unit. Much, much cheaper, and you can set the temp colder than 55. I've had it for about 8 months now after my breezaire died. I have mine set at 52 deg and with the Coolbot, a 8,000BTU AC unit keeps a 900 cubic foot cellar ...

I pour 1/2 the bottle into an empty split and then re-cork with minimal air left in the bottle (just like they would do at the winery), then put it back in the wine cellar. Yep - Couple of observations:

1) Prices steady from last year ($95) except for the new "Cerise", which is $110
2) I was offered a magnum that's not even wish list only - that's a first at least for me (although with a $35 premium over 2x750, it's likely a pass).
