My first Scarecrow

I had the 2005 Scarecrow a few years ago and it was STUPENDOUS, BRILLIANT and AMAZING. If you normally like this style of wine, perhaps it could be in a dumb phase now. I have one left of the 2005. I guess I won't be opening it any time soon... It wasn't in a "dumb phase" (as it was astonishingly e...

What I've learned of Kurniawan suggests that he had an extremely non-anal personality. He just wasn't the kind of guy who would make lists, keep records, write a diary or tape record telephone conversations. If this is so, then his claims would have very weak prospect for independent verification.....

I can be succinct, as an American who has visited Bordeaux properties on more than a dozen occasions.

Europeans spit; Americans do not.

The expectation is you will spit, but there is no pressure forcing you. But if you're with a group of Europeans, you'll probably be the only one not doing so.

For me, a key value in CT is to look at more recent reviews of older wines I'm thinking of opening. And although the "numbers" aren't what I so much go by, I look at the trends both in ratings and comments and that gives me a good sense on how the wine is evolving.
