Hi Larry. I only know what I hear. The Ex. Dir. of the Vintners' Asso. speaking as the Ex. Dir. of the Vintners says:"it is the position of the Vintners that cannabis should be banned in all SB County AVAs." Your response is the ban was not said by the Vintners' Board or any of its members. Neither ...

Hi Larry. The position of the Vintners Asso. is to ban cannabis in all Santa Barbara County AVAs. I was at a meeting on Friday at Melville and Alison, the Vintners Ex. Dir., said that was the Vintners' position. There were several Vintner Board members present and no one contradicted her. She in the...

Terpines from cannabis and vineyards-any experience?

This raises spray drift issues from the vineyards to the cannabis field and terpenes contamination from the cannabis field to the vineyard. Anybody in Oregon or elsewhere have any experience ...

Re: Are vineyards and cannabis growers compatible?

While it is hard to find reliable data, the impression in Santa Barbara County is that most of the cannabis is grown in canyons where grapes are not grown because the sides are too steep or the canyons too narrow or they are not very long. Most grapes grown here are on the flatland or slopping hills...

Doug. The cannabis growers who spoke at the Board of Supervisors said yes to your question. As a farmer I was troubled by the BOS ban on cannabis, as a crop, with no exceptions. Are vineyards and cannabis growers compatible?

For purposes of this query, assume the cannabis smell is controlled and is no worse than broccoli or brussels sprouts. Should cannabis be grown in vineyard country? The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to ban cannabis on AG parcels of 20 acres less. Even greenhouses with no odor e...
