Re: Rhys Tasting with TNs

I took a walk today and was thinking about all the feedback here, as well as what I discussed with Brian Bohr during the event, too. I have decided to put on another event, but will pull back on the total bottles, which will also affect attendance count, unfortunately. I will send out a note to all...

Thanks to Frank and Jill for opening their house for another Rhys tasting. Unfortunately, I opened a fully oxidized 13 Alpine Chardonnay, but the 2nd bottle I opened was singing. Another great event! Here are my notes. Whites #4 showing a lot of oak. Round...not a huge fan but good. 13 Shoe? (13 sho...

TN: 2018 Arcadian Theresa-Noelle Rose of Pinot

Joe recently released this and mine showed up yesterday. I chilled it down and man is a great rose. My first impression was that it is pretty dark for a rose. As soon as I pulled the cork it exploded aromatically. On the nose it showed watermelon, red berry and citrus. On the palate it is delicate a...

Re: What happened to all the love for Anthill Farms?

A bunch of wineries had issues with 2008...it was a new issue for a lot of them who had never dealt with the smoke taint. Might as well blackball every winery that ever sold a corked bottle. You are correct, but a lot of wineries handled it way different IMO. After I opened a half of a case I reach...

The 2000 is marvelous right now. 2003 is, possibly, as good as it's ever going to get; if it gets better, I'll be surprised if it's drastic. As crazy as it may be to say for an 18 yo Pinot, I believe the 2001 is still somewhat closed. 2005 needs more time. 2007 will benefit from more time, too, but...
