Re: 2003 SQN Ode To E Syrah.. how much air

Thank you all. A good friend said part of the fun of SQN is popping it and smelling it right off. He usually pops n pours. The issue is it was gifted with the promise I should give it 3 hours air first. That was back in 2012.

I'd open, pour a taste to confirm its sound and decide from there. If it's delicious cork back up and leave on counter, if tight, leave cork out on counter.

Trying to decide on 3 hour decant or open in the AM, put cork in and let it air in bottle all day?

Thoughts on this?

My concern is if this is supposedly a sealed system, where did the coolant go? Adding coolant will help but would it be a temp. fix? Call the manufacturer, but it's a small charge maybe 6-8 oz. make sure the refrigerant you use does not contain any oils/leak sealers (common in automotive small cans)...

It will cycle at 62 ok, on for 30 mins. Used to be ok at 58 and on for 15 mins. If I try to lower to 61 it runs and runs. My buddy can put in a valve and add coolant if needed. He 's going to call Vinotemp to talk to the tech. We may also replace thermistor.
