Also, if you are interested in dining out while in Breck, https://www.rootstalkbreck.com is supposed to be very good if you in to beer you’ve got to go to https://www.outerrange.com/ in Frisco. I also think the advice to go to Argonaut is a better choice than park meadows Costco.

FWIW, I live 6 miles from the park meadows Costco and the selection is decent. There is a second Total Wine very near the Costco. The tolls on 470 from the airport to that Costco is around $9 and might not save you any time over 225 to 25.

No idea but we sub maple syrup for white sugar and add more butter! I like to let the batter sit for a bit so it thickens and I see bubbles. This extra time also lets the cast iron fully heat up.

drank about a case of the 1994 Trevallon, purchased it on closeout for $14 a bottle. The last ones at roughly 20 years from vintage we far and away the best!

Sad to see the Proper Pour gone! great little shop with interesting wines. Just after the lockdown last spring I ordered some Domaine Gramenon Cotes du Rhone 'La Meme Ceps Centenaires' which they packaged up and placed in my trunk...

I live about 2 miles from Davidson's location at Arapahoe and Parker, 5 miles from Bevy's and a couple of miles from Heritage and Molly's, Total Wine's southern shop is maybe 4 miles away. I shop them all but don't buy much of anything special because I just don't see things I want to collect.

I've gone a couple of months where I didn't make SD bread and the starter needed to have liquid poured off and the top layer of starter removed (turned dark) then, after a couple of feeding cycles it was back to it's usual self.

Fallingrock bar in Denver usually gets around 5 kegs of PtY every year and has 5 ticketed events to distribute the beers $10 a glass. We tried an old Sauternes with grapefruit sections sautéed in butter. This was a suggestion by the older French guy who used to post here about his ancient wine dinners. Was a great way to finish the bottle.

once saw a 3 pk of SQN that had separated into an almost clear liquid and a coagulated mess. At the time someone on a wine board mentioned that it could be a bacterial issue that caused the "roping" of the wine. the coagulated did look like rope.

IIRC, the 1975 Phelps Syrah was the second commercial bottling of Syrah in the USA. last winebid sale was $120 I bought a 1976 bottle for under $50 back in 2016 and brought it to HdR where it drank like an old mostly dead red wine.

IIRC, Rudy spent millions buying up trophy wines (raising the prices across the board) sharing them to gain access to the “heavy lumber” crowd THEN started he started counterfeiting said trophy wines and selling them having already establishing himself as a great wine taster etc....
