Re: Which RIDGE are you drinking?

Picked up a ‘17 Lytton Springs recently at Total Wine. Consumed over 4 days. (Fridge and no preservation) This was quite good from the start. Definitely fruit forward for a Ridge. Over the course of 4 days the tannins picked up slightly each day. Day 4 had a healthy dose of drying tannins on the fin...

I am looking for a bottle of 2004 Dom Rose with box. There are several available (wine searcher) but no box. I believe there are a few special edition versions as well. Either way if you have one your willing to part with or know where one is I’m interested. Must have box. I’m in Dallas and trying t...

Adam, I haven’t had all the wines currently listed for sale on the Ridge site but my favorites are the ‘16 GSM, ‘16 Lytton Springs, ‘16 Carmichael and the ‘17 Geyserville. I haven’t had the ‘17 Lytton Springs but will be buying plenty of it.

1 - 2008 Dom Pérignon 750 ($144) Hardly worth posting about 1 bottle but it’s much bigger than the bottle. See my only daughter was born in 2008. (3 boys 1 girl) It would be a shame if dad didn’t have lots of 2008 Champaign (rose also) for her to celebrate her life milestones with. So this is the fi...

Re: Ridge American Oak Article

When we were there last weekend I asked if they use French oak on any of their wines. They said there is a couple barrels and a very small amount is used in the Monte Bello blend. Aprox 1% iirc. I do like Ridge wines and am a member. I do wish they would make a wine or two every year with French oak...

Recently
2014 Ridge Paso Robles Zin and 2017 Ridge Geyserville. Both good wines but the Geyserville is clearly the better wine. While enjoyable now I will hold my remaining 17’s for a while. I will likely add a few more of the geyserville in hopes of having enough to try a few at 20+ years.

Enjoyable. A little American oak, red fruits, pepper/spice and acid that keeps this wine lighter than it looks.

My pick at $25 would be the Walter Hansel Estate Chard.
Absolutely agree with this. Hard to beat for the money. Also Ramey Russian River or Sonoma. Great chard’s as well.

I’m finishing my first bottle of this over 2 days and I like it. It’s a simple wine. Big, soft up front and drinks easily. Short, sweet finish. For the $$$ it’s good imo. I would agree with others that this is a good wine for non wine geeks. I’d give it 90 pts.
