Re: Downstream Wines

That's how it looks to me, as well. If you actually tried it, and it was good enough to be worth buying at that price, then that would be that. But nobody has yet, and just judging from external factors like the prices of other top wines from that region and the price of Saxum, it's hard to underst...

Wait a minute, 34 wines in one issue rated 100?? At what point does the scale go to 101+? Interesting thought and it would be a bold move to move the scale to say 105pts in recognition that winemaking has gotten much better. You hate to move down the 90-95pt wines which relative to wines 10yrs ago ...

Mike Smith with 3 100pt wines. Only winemaker to ever do this in a single vintage and he’s done it twice now! [wow.gif] While an amazing feat, I think the most acclaimed producer for 100pt wines in the same vintage has to be Chapoutier - and most of those reviews from RP himself. Quite a few vintag...

The Cosme special cuvees are rare and get very high scores - hence the pricing (just like any wines getting 98-100pts) but I think otherwise the other Cosme bottlings are much more in line with higher end Gigondas. I have tried all three and they are very good, high quality wines that deserve simila...

Isn't all a matter of degree and how you personally value the potential drinking experience.
