I actually store most of my old Barolo (as well as old Rioja) - at least what I think I might drink within the next five years or so - upright so I can open them on shorter notice. I've had bottles that have taken over 3 months to settle after shipping... just no point ...

I liked the G-Max 2006 in 2011 (17/20) and the Westhofen Brunnenhäuschen Riesling Trocken Abts E®. de GG 2006 in 2017 (17/20).
Botrytis influence in both case (same for many french wines : Trimbach for example).

Champagne Marie-Noëlle Ledru Cuvée du Goulté GC brut 2010 : 18/20 Blanc de noirs. Consistent, deep, with more maturity than the 2008. Should last longly. A guest evokes Krug Clos d'Ambonnay. Châteauneuf-du-Pape Pignan 2003 : 18/20 Reynaud's style but probably less shiny, more austere than Rayas 2003.

Yeah--that's the way it should be, and was. But for me, since about 2006, there has been a lot more premox. Have no idea why, and why this hit Dauvissat late, in comparison with other estates (eg Fevre). I agree. I thought the 08 Clos was one of the best young Chablis. I have had a few premox bottl...

As always, a great chardonnay, complex, tasty, fresh (the vintage), very long ... 10 years at least were necessary ...

The last Bouches-Chères I had was in june 2019 :
Buisson-Charles Meursault Bouches-Chères 2004 : 16/20 (very good wine)
According to the vintage, rooty traces of vegetal. However, the wine ages well, turns out to be solid and quite pleasant.

We had the 08 Buisson-Charles Goutte d' Or last week at a blinded Meursault tasting, and it was beautiful. Bright, lifted, delicate but complete. Another great panel.

My last Rayas red 2001 (18,5/20) was in march 2018. It was served with a great Palmer 1966 (18/20) and an amazing DRC RSV 2007 (19/20).
