Sounds like an amazing tasting, great you managed to do it before the curfew! I discovered Bairrada wines this summer when tasting with Luis Pato. His Pe Franco from barrel was amazing. Upon return I read about Bussaco and figured I missed an opportunity to try something great by not visiting them....

This brings back fond memories of a night spent at the hotel/palace in 2007. Was your tasting there or somewhere else? Blair,

Thank you for this clarification.
I could imagine the 167 less acid than the 168 (2011 for french wines, as a possible generalization).

I however found this 167 quite acid and definitly not ready to drink (even if pleasant).

From what I can tell you don't care much for the acidity in Krug anyway. Trade them in for some Cristal! Only the 04, although I had commented on the 166 being like this before. My last 2003, at the beginning of october 2020 was excellent, ripe but properly balanced :
Pomerol La Conseillante 2003 : 17/20
Offre mûre, corsée, graphitée. Bouche de très belle tenue, plutôt onctueuse (mais sans lourdeur condamnable), évitant les potentiels pièges du millésime.

I have never been a particular fan of Las Cases but 1989 is one of the great exceptions. Nice note
